Chris & Ilona Taunton

Financial Team & Angel Food Director

Chris serves on the newly formed Financial Team and Ilona serves as the Angel Food Director at Redemption Faith Outreach Center. In addition, they are both on the Worship Team – Chris plays drums and Ilona plays bass. They have been married for more than 20 years and have two wonderful children who also have a love for music. Their son is part of the sound and media ministry and both have a heart to help in the Angel Food program. Chris works in auto sales and Ilona has worked in the environmental field for 23 years and helped build the largest environmental analysis company in the country. She has held many Vice President and Director positions in her field and now works part-time in her consulting business and home schools their children.

Ilona has a heart for people and has dedicated her time to getting the word out about Angel Food Ministries. The ministry now works with Red Cross in Polk County, United Way, DSS in both Rutherford and Polk counties, Forest City Housing Authority, Polk County Health Department, Creekside Apartments, Highwood Apartments, elementary schools and many other agencies that share the vision to make food more affordable. Her mom immigrated from Holland and raised four daughters on her own. This has given Ilona an appreciation for how Angel Food can bless a family. What she likes the most about Angel Food is that it is something that is available to everyone. It makes the assistance some families receive go farther and it helps families that don’t qualify for any assistance. For some, this is the only way they can put enough food on the table and for others it allows them to meet their budgets and save money. In the past 8 months, this ministry has grown to nearly 300 boxes being distributed each month. It is a team effort that would not be possible without the help of dedicated volunteers, local agencies and businesses.
